The 2 day Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches any adult (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.
Learn about the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in adults, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.

Become an Accredited Mental Health First Aider
Demonstrate your mental health first aid skills by becoming an Accredited Mental Health First Aider. Complete an online assessment after the course to become accredited.

This is a 12-hour course, which is usually delivered as either: A 2-day training package (6 hours per day), or as 4 separate modules (3 hours each).
The Older Person Mental Health First Aid course will teach you how to assist a person aged 65+ who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence based Action Plan.

Designed for workplaces that require increased flexibility in the delivery of training for their staff members, the Blended Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace course is a combination of online (eLearning) and a half day of follow-on face-to-face training.
The course teaches managers, supervisors and individuals how to assist a co-worker who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. However course participants will learn mental health first aid skills that can be applied to help any adult. Course content is tailored to the workplace setting using case-studies, videos and resources tailored to their learning needs.
Course participants first complete the interactive self-paced eLearning component that presents an overview of mental health problems and mental health crises. The follow-on face-to-face training allows participants the opportunity to revise and consolidate skills in a group environment, and to address mental health problems in the workplace in more depth.
Enrolling in this Blended Course is a two-step process:
1. Enrol and complete the eLearning component.
2. Attend a 4-hour follow-up face-to-face session within 3 months of the eLearning component
What is the cost?
Refresher courses are 4 hour face-to-face courses that allow people who have previously completed a 12 hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course to refresh their knowledge and skills. For people who are Accredited MHFAiders, the refresher courses offer an opportunity to extend their accreditation for a further 3 years.
The content of each refresher course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
